Today we... did a sentence segmenting activity to help improve phonological awareness, worked on finishing up any work from throughout the week, read from our book 'A Whale of the Wild', attended the 'Pie-in-the-Face' assembly and celebrated the funds raised for the Terry Fox Foundation, and had a class meeting.

UPDATES & REMINDERS: Next Wednesday, October 18th is Fun Snack day (pretzels can be ordered), and board game club will also meet on Wednesday at lunch recess.  No school next Friday (Professional Development Day).

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
