Today we... wrote a journal entry about whether students should have more recess time at school, practiced using the talk move 'reasoning', practiced basketball skills in gym, played multiplication BUMP with the 9x tables, used the strategy 'Repeated Subtraction' to find the quotient to division questions,  learned a science term 'decomposition' and how it relates to waste removal, and identified the continents and oceans around the world.

UPDATES & REMINDERS: Wednesday is Fun Snack day for those who ordered, there is no school this Friday (October 20th), and home reading books were sent home today.  Please check your email for more information!

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
