Today we... learned about the reading power of making inferences, exchanged our books at the library, visited Ms. Thumm's class who read their colour poems to us, examined numbers and ordered them from least to greatest, discussed hazardous materials and the meaning of the symbols found on household hazardous materials, and we practiced our songs for the winter concert.
UPDATES & REMINDERS: Students were asked to look around their home (with parent permission) for household products that have hazardous warnings on them, such as explosive, corrosive, flammable, and toxic. Are there any rooms that are 'hotspots' meaning many hazardous materials are found there? Which room in the house it a 'hotspot'? (This is part of our science unit 'Waste in our World'. We will next discuss safe, proper ways of disposing of these materials so they don't end up in a landfill.)
