Today we... created and shared our favourite thing about winter, learned about the reading power of 'transforming', went outside for gym, made clocks and learned about duration of time, brainstormed and discussed objects that emit and reflect light, and practiced for the winter concert in the gym.

UPDATES & REMINDERS:  The winter concert is this Thursday evening from 7:15 - 7:45.  Students can wear what they wish to the performance.  Also, due to concert practices held in the gym, we will be outdoors for gym class with Mr. Parson's all this week.  Finally, grade 5 students are still collecting Mustard Seed donations for the remainder of this week.

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
