Today we... learned about types of compound words and played a related literacy activity, worked on writing satisfying endings to our short stories, voted on a new read aloud - City of Ember, played Multiplication Connect 4, worked on a math strategy involving halfing numbers, continued on our social studies project about historical sites in Alberta, and did an art activities about zentangles.

UPDATES & REMINDERS:  No school Friday (PD Day) or Monday (Victoria Day holiday).  Please remember to print off and send back field trip forms.  If you do not have access to a working printer, have your child ask me to print one off for them... I am happy to do that!

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
