Today we... did a quick literacy task involving finding synonyms, read in our reading groups, started our new read aloud 'City of Ember', worked on decomposing numbers to assist with multiplication of larger numbers, had catch up time to work on unfinished assignments and tasks, and had a class meeting.

UPDATES & REMINDERS:  No school tomorrow or Monday.  A few students still need to bring in their field trip forms for our upcoming trip to Fort Calgary on June 3.  We will begin our lessons next week on human sexuality.  If you don't want your child to participate, you must return the signed exeption form that was emailed home at the beginning of May.  If no form is returned, than I will assume your child is allowed to participate in the lessons.

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
