Today we... did an activity involving making inferences, finished up publishing our short stories, read from City of Ember, did a math challenge called 'How many triangles do you see?', learned the base ten model for solving multiplication questions, presented our Google Slides and replicas for social studies, and had music with Ms. Bohan.

UPDATES & REMINDERS: Next Monday is our field trip to The Confluence Historical Site and Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary).  The bus will leave around 9am in the morning and return back to the school around 2:30pm.  The students will need to dress for the weather (walking shoes too), bring a lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.  Thanks again to those who are volunteering... we currently have the maximum number of volunteers allowed by the establishment.

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
