Today we... read in our reading groups, practiced our hoop dance with Elder Shirley, learned about different types of angles and practiced measuring them, watched videos and gathered some facts about plants and plant growth, and did a journal activity that involves listening skill and describing details. UPDATES & REMINDERS: Tomorrow is our assembly to celebrate National Indigenous People's Day (parents are welcome - it begins at 9:30am). Activity day is next Thursday from 9 - 11am. Thursday of next week is also the last day of school... students will be dismissed at 11:45am.

Today we... read a story called 'The Hoop Dancer's Teachings' and created a journal page about it, brainstormed ideas about a newspaper article, read from City of Ember, did the June section of our phenology wheels, learned the traditional alogrithm for long division, researched and record information about people who helped shape Alberta's past, and had music with Ms. Bohan. UPDATES & REMINDERS: There is an assembly this Friday for National Indiginous People's Day at 9:30 (parents are welcome). Activity Day is on the last day of school (June 27th). Students will be dismissed at 11:45 on that day. Report cards will also be available to read on June 27th.

Today we... examined some pictures that led us to ask some deep-thinking questions, continued our poems for Father's Day, read from City of Ember, played a numeracy game called Operation, continued practicing long division questions using the box method, played Minecraft Education, and read information and answered questions about the North West Mounted Police. UPDATES & REMINDERS: We will spend an hour with Elder Shirley tomorrow to hear some more story telling.

Today we... played Kahoot to review grammar rules, read and recorded information from various newspaper articles, read from City of Ember, played 'Salute' to practice multiplication recall, continued on with the traditional algorithm to solve 3-digit by 1-digit multiplication, and read 'The Giving Tree' by Metis artist Leah Dorion and recreated a piece of her artwork UPDATES & REMINDERS: Copperfield School Council is offering a free TELUS Wise workshop for Copperfield Parents/Guardians at 6pm tonight. Many children are using technology and the workshop is designed to support Parents/Guardians to better understand topics including screen time, gaming, cyberbullying and more.
