Today we... played Kahoot to review grammar rules, read and recorded information from various newspaper articles, read from City of Ember, played 'Salute' to practice multiplication recall, continued on with the traditional algorithm to solve 3-digit by 1-digit multiplication, and read 'The Giving Tree' by Metis artist Leah Dorion and recreated a piece of her artwork 

UPDATES & REMINDERS:  Copperfield School Council is offering a free TELUS Wise workshop for Copperfield Parents/Guardians at 6pm tonight.  Many children are using technology and the workshop is designed to support Parents/Guardians to better understand topics including screen time, gaming, cyberbullying and more.  The presentation will be virtual and Copperfield parents/guardians can log on using a personal device to participate using the following link:  https://meet.google.com/bfj-poun-cms

 Today we... did a literacy activity where we counted phonemes, worked on our design and build challenge, played a math game skip counting by 5s, completed a check-in to see how we are doing with using multiplication and division strategies, used ChromeBooks to access a resource about the regions of Alberta, and did a journaling activity practicing listening and describing images on the Smartboard. UPDATES & REMINDERS: With Halloween just around the corner, p lease don’t send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions, allergies and sanitization expectations makes this a challenging practice.

 Today we... played a literacy game called synonym match up, discussed what 'Talk Moves' are and practiced how to use them, read from our novel 'A Whale of the Wild', found increasing and decreasing patterns using money, did a Google Classroom activity where we had to put the provinces and territories back together using an online puzzle, and we had music.   UPDATES & REMINDERS:  A note went home today regarding a board-game club... if your child is interested, please sign and return the form ASAP.  Please bring in donations for the Terry Fox Run which will be held this Friday.  Fun Lunch is this Wednesday!
